What is the difference between Traditional Thai, Table Top Thai and Swe-Thai Massage?

Traditional Thai Massage is performed on a mat on the floor. The client remains fully clothed and there are no oils or creams used. Traditional Thai Massage combines passive Yoga style stretching with the working of energy lines and acupressure points in the body. The average Traditional Thai Massage is 90 minutes in length.

Table Top Thai Massage is Traditional Thai massage with one exception. It is performed on top of a massage table instead of on the floor. It was developed specifically for people who are not comfortable working on the floor or can’t work on the floor due to space limitations. For example spas wishing to offer Thai massage can do so without purchasing new equipment or having to renovate treatment rooms. The average Table Top Thai Massage is 60 minutes because the amount of techniques you can use on top of a massage table are limited.

Swe-Thai Massage is performed on a massage table. It combines advanced and specific soft tissue therapies, Thai style mechanics and stretching. The client is unclothed and a cream or oil is used. The average Swe-Thai massage is 70 minutes but can easily be shortened to 60 or extended to 90 minutes.

What do we have to wear for the workshop?

For Traditional Thai and Table Top Thai you should wear loose fitting comfortable clothing. Example: Drawstring pants and a T-Shirt. Please don’t wear shorts.

For Swe-Thai Massage wear clothes that are easy to take on and off and are comfortable for you.  We do suggest that ladies bring a two piece bathing suit or equivalent to wear when they are receiving the massage work. Gentleman may wear a bathing suit as well or gym shorts.

Will my state massage board accept your home study courses for my Massage License renewal?

Since every state massage board has different rules and regulations it is best that you check directly with your state's Board of Massage Therapy. Many states limit the amount of home study course hours, requiring therapists to instead take a portion or all of their CE hours live in a classroom.

Both our Swe-Thai Massage and Table Top Thai Massage Home Study Courses are approved by the NCBTMB for 16 CE Credit Hours. If your state accepts NCBTMB (National Certification Board) credits then you can use our courses.

In some states all CE Courses have to be approved by the state board of Massage Therapy and be delivered by a state approved CE Provider. We are an approved provider for the following states and our Home Study Courses are accepted in these states for License Renewal.

Florida CE Provider  #  50-1260
Louisiana CE Provider # LAP0113
Illinois CE Sponsor application pending.

When calling your state board you should mention that our courses are approved by the states listed above and the NCBTMB.
